Eggs from this farm are sold widely, including as Kroger-branded eggs. Workers killed thousands of unwanted hens by beating and gassing them. In just weeks, nearly 8,000 hens died-many of apparent heatstroke-when temperatures in the farm's sheds reached 106 degrees.
