Baiada Poultry Pty Limited is one of Australia's two dominant vertically integrated poultry producers, operating broiler and breeder farms, hatcheries, feed mills and processing plants across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
Founded in the 1920s by Maltese immigrant Celestino "Charlie" Baiada in Pendle Hill, western Sydney, the company produces and distributes chicken products under the Steggles and Lilydale Free Range brands, supplying major retailers including Coles, Woolworths and IGA, and quick service restaurants including McDonald's, KFC and Guzman y Gomez.
A privately held company owned by the Camilleri family, Baiada employs an estimated 5,000 people and generated approximately A$3.6 billion in revenue in 2024.
Based on its estimated 35% share of the Australian chicken meat market, Baiada is responsible for killing in the order of 265 million chickens annually.

Baiada moves ahead with Tamworth investments - Grain Central

Image: Baiada AUSTRALIA'S largest poultry meat producer, Baiada, is moving forward with a major expansion in New South Wales' New England region, committing over $300 million to build and upgrade facilities. It is understood the expansion will see Baiada's regional grain, pulse and oilseed use will go up to 445,000 tonnes per year.
