Hazeldene's Chicken Farm Proprietary Limited is a vertically integrated poultry producer based in Lockwood, near Bendigo in central Victoria.
Founded in 1938 by Jack Hazeldene, the company operates breeding and rearing farms, a hatchery, contracted and company-owned growing farms, and a primary processing facility, all concentrated across more than 50 sites in Victoria.
It supplies branded and private-label chicken products to major supermarket chains and other retailers across Australia. In 2021 Australian private equity firm BGH Capital acquired a majority stake, with the Hazeldene family retaining a minority interest. The company employs more than 1,000 people.
According to BGH Capital, Hazeldene's kills approximately 900,000 chickens per week — equivalent to an estimated 47 million per year.

Remember the protracted battle regarding the plans to build broiler farms on the Moolort Plains, west of Baringhup, in the Shire of Mount Alexander?
