Major update after shocking piggery vision

Five people connected to an Adelaide Plains piggery face dozens of animal cruelty charges a year after the release of horrific footage allegedly filmed at the premises was released.
One person has been hit with 49 charges of ill-treatment of an animal related to Andgar Piggery in Dublin, north of Adelaide.
Four others had been charged with 31 of those offences, an RSPCA SA staement said.
It comes a year after activist group Farm Transparency Project (FTP) published a dossier of photos, videos and documents revealed the shocking alleged conditions being experienced by pigs at the farm.
The huge catalogue of photos allegedly depicted animals living – and dying – in squalor.

"The investigation commenced last year following the submission of video footage filmed inside the Dublin premises on June 14 and 20, 2025," RSPCA SA said.
"RSPCA SA inspectors accompanied by PIRSA veterinary staff conducted an inspection of the piggery on June 27 of last year where multiple pigs were humanely euthanised."
Twenty-one animal welfare notices were issued by RSPCA SA, instructing the owners and manager to take immediate action to address the poor living conditions.
RSPCA SA then inspected the farm three more times to ensure they were complying with the notices.
RSPCA SA head of animal welfare Andrea Lewis said the organisation was pleased that charges had now been laid.
"This has been an extremely complex matter, and over the past 12 months we have worked tirelessly and diligently to thoroughly review the evidence and prepare a strong and well-supported case," she said.
"Now that charges have been laid, we look forward to the legal proceedings progressing and to seeing justice achieved for the animals that were harmed."
The matter will go before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on July 7.
