Two Wells Piggery, SA - Campaign Video (IG)

Two Wells Piggery is a small, grower only unit owned by Andgar's co-proprietors Andrew Goss. This month, investigators visited to document the conditions on the farm and report what they found.

Two Wells piggery operates three sheds housing a combination of 'grower' (2-5 months old) and finisher (5-6 months old) pigs. These pigs will spend their last months in filthy sheds, often fighting due to the cramped conditions.

At the piggery, investigators filmed injured, lame and bloody pigs, as well as one pig with a swollen, misshapen ear due to a hematoma. These intelligent, curious animals were seen chewing at the bars of their pens and trying to play with hoses and other bits of rubbish, desperate for any sort of stimulation in the bare, filthy pens.

Pigs at Two Wells live in crowded pens, covered in their own waste until they are 6 months old. At this point, they are sent to the slaughterhouse where they will be gassed to death in a carbon dioxide gas chamber.

This is the true price of pork.
