Moree saleyards complex looking for a buyer - Beef Central

It isn't every day that a saleyards complex comes to market, but the Moree Plains Shire Council is presently looking to sell or lease its mothballed saleyards facility in northern NSW. The Moree Livestock Selling Centre is located not far from town, on the Newell Highway. Cattle sales were held weekly at the MLSC yards prior to its closure in February 2022. At the peak of its operations, the yards regularly yarded around 7000 cattle, the information memorandum claims. The Moree Community is showing their support as the local council places Moree Saleyards up for new ownership.  Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking an Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitable applicants who may be interested in leasing or purchasing the Moree Livestock Selling Centre.   "It is action, where there was no action." said Col Pring, Moree Producer.
