PigsA very small and mostly empty piggery - a small number of occupied farrowing crates and grower pens. In the farrowing crates, sows are confined for weeks in small cages on concrete floors - industry standard. Piglets' tails are cut off at a very young age without anaesthetic. The piggery is APIQ accredited.
A sign at the back entrance reads "Trespassers will be shot and thrown into the shit pit". Several sick and malnourished stray cats were found living with the pigs.
It is believed that this piggery is in the process of closing down.
