Zero graze dairy milking 5500 cows

Moxey Farms is one of the
largest dairies in Australia
employing over 200 full time
staff. The journey started in
1919 by the Moxey family
in Richmond on 24 acres
with 20 cows. In 1992, the
family expanded the farm to
Gooloogong, near Cowra in
central west NSW, with milk
production starting six years
later. Today, Moxey Farms is
home to a milking herd of
5500 cows.

From the separation of newborn calves from their mothers; to the brutal slaughter of week old bobby calves and 4-6 year old... Read more >

  • Animal advocacy groups target dairy 'factory farms' in new campaign

    Wednesday 7 May 2025

A new campaign uses a combination of drone, handheld and hidden camera footage to document the conditions inside four intensive dairy farms across Australia. The new footage shows cows living in excrement-covered concrete in zero-graze 'freestall' sheds, where cows have no access to the outdoors for the majority of their lives. Campaigners are calling on the public to boycott dairy products to protest the rise of US-style dairy factory farms, which are becoming more common in Australia.  US-style 'zero-graze' dairy factory farming has come under fire in a new campaign from animal protection organisation Farm Transparency Project (FTP). ...
