Notes: Laboratory animal supplier (nonhuman primates). TNPRC is the largest of eight National Primate Research Centers funded by the National Center for Research Resources, a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The centers breed nonhuman primates for laboratories and universities engaged in NIH-sponsored research. The centers also supply nonhuman primate blood samples, organs and biological fluids. Part of the Tulane University Health Sciences Center; located on 500 acres near Covington, Louisiana, 35 miles from the main campus. Houses more than 5,000 monkeys for research and breeding, including approx. 200 monkeys in a NIH Regional Biosafety Laboratory
