Animal activist group Farm Transparency Project is calling for public support to oppose the expansion of a controversial piggery in northern Victoria.

Midland Bacon made national headlines in 2024 when farm worker Bradley O'Reilly was charged with bestiality after footage allegedly caught him engaging in a sex act on a pig, with the footage played during the 2024 Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into pig welfare.

FTP also released footage taken with hidden cameras that allegedly showed piglets having their tails cut off with scissors and having their heads smashed against the ground.
