Optimice poster in TAFE classroom

Optimice housing units are used in laboratory setting and in TAFE/educational facilities with animal courses. Mice may sometimes be provided a toilet roll as "enrichment," otherwise they are provided only food, water, litter, and a small amount of bedding material. Each cage is used to house up to 6 adult mice at a time, and kept in a large rack that can contain dozens of cages.

This poster boasts that Optimice systems provide the "highest cage density in the industry!" with up to 420 mice in a single-sided rack, or 840 on a double-sided rack. This is based on a population of 6 mice per cage. The cage system with the asterisk is the one being used in this TAFE facility.
