Boars used for breeding will be brought into a small pen and forced to mount the dummy. A worker will rub at their genital area until their penis begins to emerge. The worker will then manually force the boar to ejaculate and collect his semen. This will be done up to three times a week for each boar. Often, boars will resist as they are brought into the pens, refusing to mount the dummy even as they are shoved and hit by the worker. Boars will spend the rest of their time in small stalls, which are barely as wide as their bodies and allow only a few small steps forward and backwards. At two years old, they will be sent to the slaughterhouse.
