Cedar Meats Vigil - National Week Of Action 2025
During the Shut Down Slaughterhouses Week of Action, we held a vigil outside of the Cedar Meats slaughterhouse in Brooklyn, Victoria.
During a two week investigation last year, our hidden cameras captured the handling and slaughter of animals, including newborn lambs and kids born in the holding pens of the slaughterhouse.
It was a Wednesday night when we gathered outside the slaughterhouse, holding signs and listening to music and speeches from investigators. We wanted to send a message to Cedar Meats, to let them know that we have not forgotten how they treat animals when they believe that no one is watching
We poured fake blood across their driveway as a visual reminder to everyone passing by, that animals arriving here are coming to their deaths. At the gates to the slaughterhouse, we each left a flower.
The images of animals whose deaths we have seen will haunt us forever, but we are determined to continue to fight in their name.
