How would you comfort a dying friend?

Pigs are incredibly intelligent, social animals capable of forming close bonds with one another... and it shows in their final moments at Menzel's Meats.

In our new footage from the South Australian slaughterhouse, you can see pigs protectively standing between a sow and the man who shot her, with another nudging the dying pig with her snout through the bars of the kill pen.

There are several instances of pigs standing on top of their friends, trying to hold them while they convulse violently.

The last pig watches as each of her friends are dragged away... knowing that she is next.

It's time to demand legal protection for farmed animals. Go to the link in our bio to send Minister for Agriculture, Murray Watt, an email demanding a national inquiry into the lack of protection for farmed animals
