Illegal knackery - hidden camera

The recieval and slaughter of horses at Peter Loffel's illegal knackery in Greater Shepparton.

Ex-racing and breeding thoroughbreds and standardbreds are brough to this property and shot before being transported to Loffel's nearby knackery. On multiple occasions, horses take multiple shots to kill, with some even managing to regain their feet after being shot in the head.

Horses are killed in front of each other in a small yard. As those before them are shot, they will run around in fear and panic. Investigators used brands and microchip information to identify several of the horses held at the property as ex flat and harness racehorses.
