This footage was gathered by me and my team for my Amazon Prime documentary "Pignorant". It was taken at the Pilgrim's slaughterhouse (formerly known as Tulip Meats) in 'Ashton Under Lyne' near Manchester, England in February 2021. Just 2 weeks following the release of this footage, Pilgrims UK shut down this slaughterhouse. This footage is uncut other than the camera changes, everything inside the chamber was filmed on the same day, the outside shots were filmed on different days but have been combined to show how the system works all together. CO2 is an extremely aversive gas which tortures the pigs before they are rendered dead. This method is still the most widely used method for killing pigs in the UK, Europe, Australia and America.
